Gaithersburg

Update: Police has stated “Watkins Mill High School is no longer on lockdown. The report was determined to be unfounded.” However, the school continued the lockdown following that communication.. An email went out to staff at 12:05 stating the school will move to a shelter-in-place with a closed lunch, and the announcement was made to the school at 12:19pm.

DMV

Metro is advising customers of weekend construction for Maryland’s MTA Purple Line project, which will require the closure of four Red Line stations between Takoma and Glenmont. On Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 27-28, free shuttle buses will replace trains between Takoma and Glenmont. The Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton, and Glenmont stations will be closed.
