This year, the Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Cloverly/Silver Spring will hold its annual Greek festival from Friday, September 5th, to Sunday, September 7th. The festival will be open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

A Las Vegas woman was arrested at Washington Dulles International Airport after U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers discovered over 59 pounds of marijuana in her luggage bound for Germany. She faces felony charges for possession with intent to distribute and transporting a controlled substance, as authorities continue to see attempts to smuggle marijuana to Europe where it commands higher prices.

Update: The repairs have been completed and Wisconsin Ave. has reopened as of 6am Wednesday morning.
WSSC crews have been working to repair a significant water main break that occurred on Monday along Wisconsin Avenue (MD-355) near East West Highway (MD-410) in Bethesda. The incident caused substantial damage to the southbound lanes of Wisconsin Avenue, leading to a multi-day closure for emergency repairs.
In a recent ranking by FOX Sports, Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has been named the best pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. The former LSU star, who was selected second overall, has clearly made a significant impression in his rookie season, earning him the top spot on a list that includes other highly-touted players from his draft class.

The long-awaited Play Street Museum is officially opening its doors in Gaithersburg on Wednesday, August 13th. This new location, the first in Montgomery County, will offer a unique and engaging indoor play experience for children aged 0 to 7. The franchise is being brought to the area by a Montgomery County native.

Starting with the 2025–2026 school year, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) will implement a revised grading and reporting policy for students in grades 6 through 12. MCPS shared that these changes are designed to bring greater consistency across schools, reinforce academic accountability, and set clear expectations for student learning.
