Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, DC (PPMW) will host its 2026 Impact Gala on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., dinner, dancing and impactful programming, at the beautiful Waldorf Astoria downtown Washington, DC. Maryland

Montgomery County passed legislation in 2024 to address environmental, noise, and health concerns related to gas-powered leaf blowers and vacuums. Sales of gas-powered equipment have been banned since July 1, 2024, and the ban on their use begins in just a few weeks, effective July 1, 2025. (more…)

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has arrested five teens—ages 13 to 15—and recovered four stolen vehicles following a collision and vehicle theft investigation in the area of Heathfield Drive and Parkland Drive in Aspen Hill. (more…)

Gaithersburg-based Adventist HealthCare and Howard University announced today that talks regarding the possible acquisition of Howard University Hospital(HUH) by Adventist HealthCare have ended. In conjunction, Management Services Agreements (MSAs) between Adventist HealthCare and Howard University will be phased out over a transition period. The hospital’s MSA, as well as the Faculty Practice Plan’s MSA, will end in February 2026.
