The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is investigating a Saturday night armed robbery in the 13800 block of Old Columbia Pike in Silver Spring in which three adults were stabbed. All victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and the suspects fled the scene.

A group of four siblings who have played Maryland’s Multi-Match together for eight years won half of a $1.8 million jackpot from the June 30 drawing after matching all six numbers with a ticket purchased in Ocean City. The retired nurses and government workers opted for the cash payout of $490,000 (after the prize was split), and plan to use the winnings for travel, a new car, and investments, while the second winning ticket, sold in Silver Spring, remains unclaimed. Jim Morrison was the lead singer of the rock band The Doors, who passed away at the age of 27 in 1971. Morrison is widely regarded as one of the “best singers” of all time”, coming in at #5 on Rolling Stone magazines “Best Lead Singers of All Time” list in 2011 and at #47 on the magazines “Best Singers of All Time” list, but did you know he also briefly lived in Montgomery County as a child?
