Senior Center Employee and Rockville Police Officer Save Woman Who Was in Distress for Four Days After Suffering a Fall in Her Home

A Rockville Senior Center Employee and Rockville Police officer were able to save a woman who suffered from a fall and was in distress for four days, conscious, but unable to move on the floor of her home. The Rockville Police Department shared the story on social media. It can be seen below:

“Last week Mr. Gerry Jones, a Rockville Senior Center employee, decided to go check on a senior citizen whom he had not seen or heard from in a few days. He saw her car in the driveway, the mail piling up and no one answered his knocks on the door.

Concerned for her welfare, Mr. Jones and the staff at the Senior Center contacted RCPD for assistance. Officer Tyler Haines responded to the home and after speaking with Senior Center employee Fran Jablonski, he agreed that something didn’t seem right.

Going with his gut instinct, Officer Haines was persistent and able to find a way into the home where he found the woman on the floor, conscious, but in distress. She had fallen and had been lying there for four days.

The woman was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. Thanks to the heroic actions of Officer Haines and the amazing support and concern of the staff at the Rockville Senior Center, a woman’s life was saved.

Congrats

Officer Haines for being our hero of the week!”
