Montgomery County isn’t known for its skyscrapers, and while Baltimore boasts the 23 tallest buildings in Maryland, Montgomery County is home to the 24th and 25th tallest structures in the state. In this article, we examine the three tallest buildings in Montgomery County. Notably, the county’s two highest buildings were constructed within the last five years, surpassing the building now ranked third in height.

Northmarq has arranged $141.73 million in financing for a two-asset, 493-unit portfolio of high-rise apartment buildings in Montgomery County. The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has charged 31-year-old Darrel David Nixon of Silver Spring with involuntary manslaughter in connection with a February assault outside a Bethesda lounge that led to the death of 44-year-old Morgan Andrew Hippchen Stone.

Yongxian Huang, 24, of Brooklyn, NY, pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Circuit Court to conspiracy to commit theft, attempted theft, and theft over $100. The plea was entered on June 23, 2025, and Huang faces up to 10 years and 6 months in prison, with sentencing scheduled for July 11. (more…)
