Mykonos, a Rockville staple for decades, will be opening a new restaurant in Potomac’s Cabin John Village. The restaurant will be taking over the space that was occupied by Broadway Pizza until the end of 2021 and though an opening timeframe is not yet available, we now expect it to be in the coming months.
Duke’s Grocery, a DC-based, East London-inspired gastropub, will be opening in quarter 1 of 2025, according to an Instagram post by the company. The Instagram post also provided a first look at the interior of the restaurant (video below).

A tavern established in 1750 in Annapolis (Anne Arundel County), a saloon that opened in 1775 (Baltimore), and an inn that opened its doors in Potomac in 1860 (Montgomery County) make up the three oldest restaurants in the state of Maryland that continue to operate today. Per Webster’s, a restaurant is a business place where meals or refreshments may be bought.
MCPS announced on Friday, December 13th that La Faye Howard, assistant principal at Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, has been honored as the 2025 Assistant Principal of the Year by the Maryland Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
