In September 2021, we let you know that Gregorio’s Trattoria would be opening its third MoCo location, and fourth overall, at Park Potomac- taking over the space that was previously home to Sugo. Sugo closed its doors permanently last in the summer of 2021. Signage is now up at the restaurant.

Having fulfilled the 2023 goal of establishing the Scotland Juneteenth Heritage Festival as one of the major cultural events centered around the national holiday in the DMV, Juneteenth Scotland Foundation Inc. will hold a press conference at 1 p.m. on April 19 at 7700 Scotland Drive to highlight key elements of the upcoming 2024 festival — including the names of the five other non-profit organizations which will share in the net proceeds.

For over a year, former Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder’s Potomac home was the highest priced home for sale in Montgomery County. Earlier this month, it came off the market after it was announced that Snyder donated it to the American Cancer Society, and a new home now takes the crown-  9305 Inglewood Ct. in Potomac.

Earlier this week, a little more than a month since the one year anniversary of Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder putting his 30,000 SF home at 11900 River Rd. is Potomac up for sale, we let you know that the house was pulled from the market. It has since been revealed that the house was donated to the American Cancer Society. The home was initially listed at $49 million, which would have been a DMV record if it sold for the asking price. In August 2023, the home listing showed that the asking price dropped by 28.8% and is currently at $34.9 million.

Montgomery County native Steven Rales won an Oscar for Best Live-Action Short Film as producer of the film, “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar.” Rales was born in Bethesda in 1951. He founded Danaher Corporation in 1984 with his brother Mitchell Rales (part owner of the Washington Commanders and founder of Glenstone), where Steven Rales is chairman of the board.
