The Great Frederick Fair begins today at 4pm at the Frederick Fairgrounds (797 E Patrick St) and will run through September 24.  Entry to the fair is $10 and children 10 and under get in free. Special events include tractor pulls, a demolition derby, and concerts by Chris Tomlin (Sept. 16), Clay Walker (Sept. 17), and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (Sept. 18). Fun Fact: Did you know that Joan Jett, the woman many refer to as the Queen of Rock & Roll, spent almost a decade of her life growing up in Randolph Hills and attended Wheaton High School? There will also be an I Love the 90’s concert on September 22 with performances by Vanilla Ice, Coolio, Tone Loc, Rob Base, Montell Jordan, and Young MC. A Facebook page for “In-N-Out Burger Hagerstown”, that was created on Wednesday, September 14th, has been shared over 700 times in the 20 hours since the page was made. The page is not an official In-N-Out Burger page, and a new restaurant is not coming to Hagerstown.

In-N-Out Burger is an American regional chain of fast food restaurants with locations primarily in California and the Southwest. The chain’s location closest to us is in the Forth Worth, Texas area. So why aren’t there any In-N-Out restaurants on the east coast? According to Reader’s Digest, “The company refuses to sell frozen patties to ensure that customers are only eating the highest-quality meat, according to the official website. That’s why all In-N-Out restaurant locations are within 300 miles of In-N-Out’s patty-making facilities. These facility locations are only in California and Texas, hence the lack of any East Coast locations. This commitment to fresh food applies to other key ingredients, too—the fries are hand-cut, the lettuce is hand-leafed, and the buns are freshly baked. Not to mention, the chain locations don’t have any freezers or microwaves.”
