After more than three decades as a cornerstone of the District’s craft beer community, Capitol City Brewing Company (1100 New York Ave NW, Washington, DC) has announced its permanent closure. The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) has charged 25-year-old Tyler Wang’Ombe-Gichuru of Silver Spring with sexually assaulting two children under the age of 10 during a private swim lesson at a community center in Upper Marlboro. The suspect, who was hired by the victims’ family and is not employed by the center, remains in custody without bond as the investigation continues.

Maryland’s all-you-can-eat pizza landscape has seen its final Cici’s slice disappear with the recent closure of the Frederick location at 5010 Buckeystown Pike. This marks the complete departure of the popular pizza buffet chain, according to the Cici’s Pizza website. The Frederick location’s phone number is no longer in service, and the restaurant is marked as closed on Google and Yelp. Additionally, it has been removed from the corporate website.
