U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seized about 46 pounds of ketamine, an animal tranquilizer abused by users, in an air cargo shipment from Cameroon on October 10 at Washington Dulles International Airport.

According to CBP: CBP agriculture specialists examined a shipment manifested as “Garri and Water FuFu” that was destined to an address in Washington, D.C. Inside the shipment, agriculture specialists found five packages labeled as Water Fufu, a solid porridge made from puree of cassava or other starchy products, and two packages labeled as Garri, flour produced from cassava root.


A post made on Thursday on the NextDoor app, garnering over 600 comments, alleging that a woman who wears a hijab was attacked in her car by a woman yelling anti Muslim slurs at a red light. The post includes video and pictures of a woman violently banging on the car and its windows while cursing and holding up her middle finger on Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Rockledge Dr. and Democracy Blvd in Bethesda. We reached out to Montgomery County Police, who provided us without the following preliminary statement:

On Thursday, October 26, 2023, at approximately 1:20 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the area of Rockledge Dr. and Democracy Blvd. for the report of a disturbance. Officers spoke to the complainant and documented the incident.


Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section have identified a 15-year-old as the individual responsible for making the bomb threat against Paint Branch High School on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

At approximately 10:36 am, 3rd District officers, K-9 units, and Community Engagement Officers responded to the location for the report of a bomb threat that was made over the phone.


Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged 43-year-old Devin Byron Dorsey, of unknown address, with the Rockville armed robbery that occurred on Monday, October 2, 2023, after an anonymous tipster came forward and identified Dorsey based on a photograph posted on a MCPD news release. The tipster is now eligible for a reward of up to $10,000.

On Thursday, October 5, 2023, detectives obtained an arrest warrant against Dorsey, charging him with armed robbery, robbery, second-degree assault and theft less than $100.   On Saturday, October 14, 2023, Dorsey was arrested in Germantown and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is being held without bond.


Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect responsible for a theft and fraudulent credit card use in Bethesda.  On Saturday, September 16, 2023, at approximately 1:40 p.m., the victim was at a CAVA restaurant in the 4800 block of Bethesda Avenue when an unknown suspect stole his black Lulu Fanny Pack, containing personal property and credit cards, from the back of his chair.

Moments after the victim discovered his bag had been stolen, he received a notification that his credit card had been used at a Target in the 6800 block of Wisconsin Avenue.  Detectives obtained surveillance video of the suspect. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 40 to 50-years-old with a salt and pepper beard. He was wearing a black Nike baseball hat, a gray Nike long sleeve zippered sweatshirt and black Nike sweatpants.


Per the Washington County Sheriff’s Office: “On October 26, 2023, at approximately 11:00 AM, during an expanded evidentiary search in the Williamsport, MD area, a deceased person was located. The deceased individual has been positively identified as Pedro Argote, the suspect wanted for the murder of Maryland Circuit Court Judge Andrew Wilkinson.

The deceased was located in a heavily wooded area between Clear Spring Road and Bottom Road approximately 1 mile North West of where the suspect vehicle was found. A press conference has been scheduled for 3 PM and will be held at the Washington County Administration Building, 100 West Washington Street, Hagerstown, MD.”


The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) responded to a call for a shooting in White Oak was received at approximately 9:16 pm. According to MCPD, “3rd District officers responded to the area of the 11400 block of Lockwood Dr. An adult male was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

A man who escaped custody August 12 from the Virginia Department of Corrections while at a medical facility in Henrico County, Virginia and stole a car in Gaithersburg is back in custody today, according to the U.S. Marshals.

Per the U.S. Marshals: “Naseem Roulack, 21, was arrested at approximately 9 a.m. at a hotel in the 6700 block of Commerce Street in Springfield, Virginia, by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and Fairfax County Police Department.


Gaithersburg Police responded to an assault at the Lakeforest Transit Center on Tuesday, October 24. According to police, “Officers from the Gaithersburg Police Department, arrested and charged 43-years-old, Raymond Roy Addison of Gaithersburg, MD and 28-years-old, Matthew James Evans of Silver Spring, MD with first-degree assault, second- degree assault and attempted second-degree murder.

On Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at approximately 10:33 p.m., officers responded to the Transit Center located in the 9600 block of Lost Knife Road, for a report of two individuals down on the ground. Upon arrival, officers observed an individual assaulting another individual. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. During the course of the investigation, another suspect was identified as being involved and was taken into custody.


A black Mercedes CLA 250 sedan was observed leaving the scene, at a high rate of speed, and collided with an officer responding to the scene in a marked patrol car. The driver of the Mercedes and the officer were transported to area hospitals for evaluation. A second male victim, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, was located a short distance from the scene and transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.


The investigation by detectives has revealed that at approximately 9:35 p.m., an adult male victim arrived at his home in a 2015 silver BMW and parked it on the driveway. At that point, four suspects parked their unknown vehicle behind the victim, blocking the driveway. Three armed suspects exited the vehicle, pointed their guns at the victim and ordered the victim to get out of the BMW. The victim complied with the suspects’ demands. One of the suspects got in the BMW and left the scene, and the other three suspects drove away in their vehicle.
