The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) arrested 33-year-old Stephen Donatus Sheehy-Poore of Silver Spring for a commercial robbery at a 7-Eleven on Fenton Street. Detectives, assisted by the Real-Time Intelligence Center (RTIC), identified Sheehy-Poore through surveillance footage, obtained a warrant, and took him into custody on March 24. (more…)


Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Department – Investigative Section have arrested 32-year-old Louis Jeffery Hanley of Olney, MD. He faces charges of first-degree assault, firearm use in a violent crime, and reckless endangerment stemming from an incident that took place last December in Gaithersburg’s Downtown Crown neighborhood.

Two juveniles were arrested in Gaithersburg after allegedly burglarizing a gun store in Springfield, VA, where they used a vehicle to ram the entrance and steal multiple firearms before fleeing into Maryland. Montgomery County Police, with assistance from Fairfax County detectives and Gaithersburg Police, apprehended the suspects, recovered multiple stolen firearms, and continue to search for a third suspect.

On March 21, 2025, at approximately 7:38 am, Takoma Park Police officers responded to a burglary alarm at the Caribbean Market, 7500 block of New Hampshire Avenue. Upon arrival, they found the front glass shattered and spoke with an employee who had just arrived to open the store.

A federal grand jury has indicted Brendyn Andrew, 33, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, charging him with aggravated identity theft, supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP) benefits fraud, social security number misuse, and theft of government property. The defendant will have an initial appearance today at 4:30 p.m., in U.S. District Court in Greenbelt before U.S. Magistrate Judge Gina L. Simms.

Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced the sentencing of Tavonia Stackhouse and Monica Brown for financially exploiting a vulnerable adult at Rescuing Hearts Assisted Living Facility in Baltimore City. Stackhouse was sentenced to 60 days in jail and restitution of $25,291.80, while Brown received time served, restitution of $3,000, and 100 hours of community service, with both defendants barred from providing care for vulnerable adults or participating in federally funded health programs.
