NFL Free Agency unofficially opened at noon today, and the Washington Commanders have plenty of money to spend. The team also have the second pick in the 2024 NFL Draft next month and nobody is sure on who the Commanders will take, with the pick likely being a quarterback. The National Cherry Blossom Festival returns from Wednesday, March 20, 2024 – Sunday, April 14, 2024. It’s planned to coincide as closely as possible with the blooming of the trees. The National Park Service (NPS) has predicted peak bloom for the DC area Cherry Blossoms to fall this year between March 23-26.

Kelly Clarkson has been “highlighting folks from across the country who are stepping up in big ways for their local communities and neighbors.” Her show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, continued its search for 2024 Good Neighbor of the Year with Dana Marlowe, founder of I Support The Girls, a Washington D.C. area-based (Wheaton, MD) non-profit that collects and distributes millions of bras and feminine hygiene products for women in need. Marlowe herself is a resident of Montgomery County.

According to the first annual report on the results of Metro’s Board-approved strategic plan, Your Metro, The Way Forward, bus and rail ridership increased more than 4.5 million trips a month over the previous year, fueled by frequent, reliable, and safe service.

One Montgomery County, MD pizza shop has made Eater DC’s “5 New Pizza Places to Know About Around D.C.” list. AP Pizza Shop, which opened at 4747 Bethesda Ave. in Downtown Bethesda on January 31st, was the sole Maryland spot on the list.
