The flip from rain to snow started earlier than initially anticipated, allowing for heavier bursts of snow to accumulate even though ground temps were well above freezing. The precipitation also cooled things faster/more than anticipated, bringing temps to around freezing (or below) for many in the area.

All of Montgomery County and some surrounding areas are now under a Flood Watch today (Sunday, December 10th) from 1pm through late tonight. Temperatures will dip, making it possible that the storm ends with snow Monday morning.

Sergeant Patrick Kepp of Montgomery County Police was transported from Baltimore to Walter Reed with a Montgomery County Police Department central traffic escort earlier this afternoon. The motorcade traveled down Interstate 95 to the Intercounty Connector/ MD 200, I-270 before exiting onto Wisconsin Avenue.
The last remaining Romano’s Macaroni Grill in the DMV is now expected to be replaced by Lazy Dog, according to a BizJournals report. Macaroni Grill, located at 5925 Kingstowne Towne Center in Fairfax County, is still operating and a closing date is unknown.
