Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a crash involving a Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) cruiser in the area of Columbia Pike and Sandy Spring Rd in Burtonsville on Thursday night.


There are a lot of changes coming to Burtonsville, starting with the renovated Burtonsville Crossing shopping center. A new grocery store, fitness center restaurants, and plenty of retail are coming to the upgraded  shopping center, but there’s plenty going on elsewhere too. Back in April we let you know that TJ Maxx, the discount department store that sells clothing, shoes, jewelry, and home décor would be one of Burtonsville Crossing’s new tenants in the revamped shopping center. Signage is now up at the upcoming location.

On September 6th, 2010, 48-year-old Stuart Isaac left his Burtonsville home on a cross country trip to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, and was never seen or heard from again.

Ceylon House (4009 Sandy Spring Rd, Burtonsville), a first-of-its-kind cannabis lounge in Maryland, will hold its grand opening next Saturday, March 4.  Ceylon House describes itself as an inclusive space for cannabis enthusiasts that is inspired by the tea houses in Sri Lanka. *Note: Ceylon House temporarily closed in July and has not yet reopened as of December 26th.
