The Walter Johnson High School Athletic Department has announced that Chase Rieder will serve as the new head coach of the boys varsity basketball team.
Students in Edison High School’s Automotive Trades Foundation program recently participated in a hands-on seminar focused on electric and hybrid vehicle technology, safety procedures, and system maintenance, led by representatives from DARCARS, Lexus, and Toyota. (more…)
Below are Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) state champions for baseball (as early as 1974/75) and softball (as early as 1981/1982). The MPSSAA website includes state championship teams from the entire state, which could also include previous years.
Today, the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) announced the 2025-27 Purple Star Schools from eight school systems, recognizing their strong services and support for students from military families. The 23 schools, including one in Montgomery County (Glen Haven Elementary School in Wheaton), will be recognized at Tuesday’s State Board of Education meeting.
The Montgomery County Board of Education has named the winners of this year’s Business Partner, Community Partner and School Service Volunteer awards. Montgomery Village, MD native and University of Maryland standout Kaden Prather was drafted with the 24th pick in the 7th round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. The Terrapins wide receiver, a product of Germantown’s Northwest High School, brings a decorated college resume and hometown pride to the Buffalo.
The last used car and computer sale of the school year will be held from 9–11 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, at Thomas Edison High School of Technology, 12501 Dalewood Drive in Silver Spring.
