Strathmore introduces six dynamic young musicians as its Artists in Residence (AIR) Class of 2026—a genre-defying cohort selected for their creativity, skill, and artistic vision. The artists will make their debut at Fresh AIR on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 8 p.m. at The Music Center. This signature event for one of the region’s premier professional development programs for rising musicians will feature the participants’ original works, innovative collaborations, and cross-disciplinary performances. A recent conversation about Montgomery County’s most famous residents of all-time has sparked a lively debate, prompted by a story about actor Sylvester Stallone’s formative years in the area. Stallone, a global icon with a career spanning over five decades, lived in the county from approximately ages five to fifteen. While Hollywood draws talent from all over the world, Rockville, Maryland, can proudly claim actress Paula Marshall as one of its own. Born and raised in Rockville, Marshall’s local roots are a notable part of her story. A graduate of the now-closed Robert E. Peary High School, she is perhaps best known to a younger generation of viewers for her recent role as Marsha Jacobs, the mother of character Nate Jacobs, on the acclaimed HBO series, Euphoria.

In a recent ranking by FOX Sports, Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has been named the best pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. The former LSU star, who was selected second overall, has clearly made a significant impression in his rookie season, earning him the top spot on a list that includes other highly-touted players from his draft class.

Montgomery Parks is calling on the public to help select a new mural for the park activity building at Glenmont Local Park. From August 4 through August 24, 2025, community members can vote for their favorite design from four mural concepts, selected from a pool of 26 submissions by a panel of arts professionals and community stakeholders.
