Jim Morrison was the lead singer of the rock band The Doors, who passed away at the age of 27 in 1971. Morrison is widely regarded as one of the “best singers” of all time”, coming in at #5 on Rolling Stone magazines “Best Lead Singers of All Time” list in 2011 and at #47 on the magazines “Best Singers of All Time” list, but did you know he also briefly lived in Montgomery County as a child?

The Washington DC area is on the radar for Cosm Inc., the innovative immersive entertainment company, as it seeks a site for its next “Shared Reality” venue. The Washington Business Journal is reporting that Cosm is actively looking for a significant footprint, targeting 40,000 to 80,000 square feet, with a preference for locations near existing major sports venues. While Southeast DC is being eyed, the company remains open to other possibilities within the metropolitan area.

Meet Sash Sujith, a Montgomery County native with a passion for dance and community, who is transforming the way adults in the area engage with the vibrant art of Bhangra. A former member of the University of Maryland’s competitive Bhangra team, Sash felt a void after graduation– a lack of spaces where adults could dance purely for fun and connection. This realization inspired the launch of MitranDe Bhangra Workshops in June.
