Bar Rescue stars Jon Taffer, a long-time food and beverage industry consultant specializing in nightclubs, bars and pubs. Taffer offers his professional expertise, renovations and equipment to desperately failing bars in an effort to save them from closing. The show has been running for 8 seasons and we have heard season 9 will include local chef Ashish Alfred as the star of some of its episodes.

The documentary is directed by Bao Nguyen, who was born and raised in Silver Spring, MD., and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 2001.
A father and son duo from Poolesville, MD competed in season 4 of the History Channel series Alone back in 2017. The series follows contestants as they survive alone in the wilderness for as long as possible using a limited amount of survival equipment. With the exception of medical check-ins, the participants are isolated from each other and all other humans. Contestants may “tap out” at any time, or be removed due to failing a medical check-in. The contestant who remains the longest wins a grand prize of $500,000.
