Montgomery County, in partnership with local governments and organizations, will host its 28th annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown, featuring live performances, vendors, food, and community programming under the theme “Pushing Back – The Fight for Freedom is Not Over.” The festivities begin with the African American Living Legends Awards Ceremony on June 20, honoring residents over age 75 for their significant contributions to the county, as leaders emphasize the importance of preserving and celebrating African American history and culture. The Greek Orthodox Church of St. George in Bethesda, MD, will hold its annual Greek Festival on Saturday, May 31 from 12pm-9pm, and Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 12pm-7pm. The festival will be held on the church grounds at 7701 Bradley Boulevard in Bethesda, and is free and open to the public.

Additional details have been released about the 2025 Taste of Wheaton, which will take place on Sunday, June 1 at Marian Fryer Town Plaza (2424 Reedie Drive) in Wheaton. The annual community event features food, live music and dance, rides, and children’s activities. The 16th annual Gaithersburg Book Festival will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg. The event is free to attend, and free parking options are available but limited, so attendees are encouraged to use the recommended free shuttle service running continuously from 9:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. between the Montgomery County Fairgrounds (501 Perry Parkway) and the Shady Grove Metro Station (355 side).
