Santa is riding with the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) on Wednesday, Dec. 11th, ending the evening with a visit to the Children’s Inn at NIH. The event usually garners attention at every stop, with many writing in to ask us what’s happening, so below you’ll see each stop listed in case you want to catch Santa or are wondering what the commotion is:
Rockville’s Lunar New Year celebration will take place on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Rockville High School, and will feature multicultural performances, interactive displays, crafts, and free snacks, marking the Year of the Snake. The 2024 celebration was canceled due to inclement weather. (more…)
Markoff’s, popular for their annual Halloween haunt creation that has entertained visitors for years, has launched Christmas at Calleva (19120 Martinsburg Rd., Dickerson, MD). The Christmas Trail is designed to “enchant visitors of all ages” with interactive scenes inspired by the classic Christmas stories like Rudolph and The Polar Express.
Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront is hosting its annual “Light Up the Lakefront” event on Saturday, December 7th from 5pm-7pm that will feature a fireworks display over the lake.
Rockville Town Square’s annual tree lighting ceremony ‘Tree Lighting at the Square’ will be held from 6pm-9pm on Friday, December 6 in Town Square, 200 E. Middle Lane.
The City of Gaithersburg’s Jingle Jubilee takes place on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 6-8pm at the City Hall Concert Pavilion in Olde Towne Gaithersburg.
Sailing Through The Winter Solstice begins annually in November, when a number of boats, transformed through the “creative minds of many Frederick friends”, set sail on the Creek. The boats are anchored in Carroll Creek (50 Carroll Creek Way, Frederick, MD 21701), between Market Street and Carroll Street in Frederick County. The Montgomery County Planning Board and the Montgomery County Planning Department announced their December 2024 calendar of events and meetings. The public can participate in Planning Board meetings by testifying in-person, testifying virtually, over the phone, or by sending in written comments to the Planning Board on specific Planning Board agenda items to [email protected] by 12 noon two business days before the Planning Board meeting. The free annual “Christmas on the Farm” event at the Agricultural History Farm Park in Derwood will take place on December 7-8, featuring hayrides, farm animals, crafts, holiday music, and refreshments from noon to 5 p.m. each day. (more…)
