Lone Oak Farm Brewing Company is teaming up with Special Olympics Maryland to host the Pint Size Polar Bear Plunge on Saturday, July 20th from 12:00 to 5:00 pm as a 6-month kickoff to the 2025 MSP Polar Bear Plunge. The event raised $36,000 for Special Olympics Maryland last year.

There will be a free Peace Day Celebration at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park (1800 Piccard Dr,) in Rockville on Sunday, September 22. It was originally scheduled for today, July 14, 2024, but has been postponed due to extreme heat. In the spirit of the Olympic Games, we (The MoCoShow) have partnered with Rio and Sportrock Climbing Centers to host the first-ever Rio Games, scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 28th from 9am-1pm with 100% of proceeds from the events taking place at Sportrock going to the Special Olympics.

Montgomery Parks is opening a new mountain biking course, Wheaton Gravity Mountain Bike Park, to draw thrill-seeking riders to Wheaton Regional Park. The grand opening takes place on Sunday, July 21 from 11am until 12pm (Rain date: Sunday, July 28, 2024, 11am- 12pm). The event will take place in the Wheaton Regional Park Shorefield area (2000 Shorefield Road, Wheaton, Md., 20902). The mountain bike park is located in the woods behind the Adventure Playground.
