Mid-County Sparkles, one of Montgomery County’s Independence Day celebrations, will take place on Saturday, July 1st. Live music begins at 6 pm and fireworks begin at 9:15 pm. No alcohol or pets are permitted. Time is approximate and may change due to weather and additional information will be available closer to the event date. This event will be held at Newport Mill Local Park.

Westfield Wheaton Mall will be offering complimentary parking and round trip shuttle bus transportation from the mall parking lots to Albert Einstein High School (11135 Newport Mill Rd, Kensington, MD) starting at 5:30pm on Saturday, July 1 (Westfield Wheaton Mall,11160 Veirs Mill Rd, Wheaton, MD) for the region’s popular, annual firework and live music festival.


For over 25 years, The Bethesda Country Club has hosted its fireworks display event for its members.  The fireworks display begins at sundown (around 9pm) for roughly 25 minutes on Sunday, June 25, 2023 (rain date will be on Monday, June 26 2023).

Bethesda Country Club is located at 7601 Bradley Blvd and the display will be visible in the surrounding area. “This is a private event for our members and their guests, however for those who live nearby, all you need to do is look up and enjoy an exciting and beautiful show!”


Now in its 31st year, the Giant National Capital Barbecue Battle continues to be a fan favorite with DC area residents and tourists alike. The Giant BBQ Battle will take place on Saturday, June 24 (11 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and Sunday, June 25, 2023 (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.) on Pennsylvania Avenue, between 3rd and 7th Street, NW, Washington, DC.

In 2023, Festival goers will have the opportunity to experience all things BBQ as Pennsylvania Avenue will become the epicenter of BBQ pork-fection. Top BBQ legends from across the country will compete in multiple contests like the Perdue Sizzlin’ Chicken Contest, National Pork Championship, Smokin’ with Smithfield, PA Steak Cook-off Kingsford Kids Que.


WHEATON, Md. — July is Park and Recreation Month so celebrate with Montgomery Parks by taking in a Parks Playhouse or Playhouse Junior performance, a Shakespeare performance, a baseball game, Independence Day fireworks, or just enjoy nature. July events in Montgomery Parks include:

Rockville’s Independence Day Celebration is held annually at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park in King Farm. This location offers wonderful spectator viewing, and ample and convenient parking for the 4th of July festivities. Enjoy live music by Under the Covers and a 20-minute fireworks display. The event will take place on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 between 7pm – 10 pm Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park, located at 1800 Piccard Drive, Rockville, MD 20850. Parking: Free parking is available in lots along Shady Grove and Gaither Roads, as well as on Piccard Drive. These lots are conveniently located near the event site. There is no parking available in the King Farm neighborhood. Please use main roads such as Route 355, Gude Drive, and Shady Grove Road to access these parking lots. There will be ample signage directing people to public parking. View Parking Map/ Accessible parking is available in the parking lot on the corner of Shady Grove Road and Gaither Road. Please display your Accessible Parking Pass when entering the event site.


Per the City of Rockville: Join Lincoln Park Community Center, the Mayor and Council, and members of the Isreal family noon-4 p.m. Saturday, July 8, for a ribbon cutting and community event to rededicate Clarence “Pint” Isreal Park (357 Frederick Avenue).

The Rockville Village program presents East Side Live, featuring a special performance by Little Bit of Blues with Lincoln Park’s own Jay Summerour and Eric Shelby. Vendors and other kid friendly entertainment will also be on site. In the event of rain, the ceremony will take place. The community day celebration will be moved inside Lincoln Park Community Center.


The Maryland Italian Festival is coming to Harford County with live national entertainment, carnival rides & midway, wine/beer/liquor piazza, Italian food & retail vendors, cooking & wine demos, a bocce Tournament and much more. The festival has been touted as being the “largest Italian festival in Maryland.”

The inaugural festival, which is being organized by the Society of Italian-American Businessmen, will take place over three days– from September 29-October 1st at The Equestrian Center (608 N Tollgate Rd., Bel Air, MD. The current lineup of artists that Will be providing entertainment includes the Atlantic City Boys, Ray Massa’s Eurorhythm, the Sicilian Tenors, Louis & Joann Uptown Band, DJ Victor Tosti with more to come.


The Maryland State Fair will return on August 24th for its 142nd year. The fair will take place over three weekends (August 24-27, August 31-September 4, and September  7-September 10) and will be held at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium.

The Maryland State Fair is complete with daily home arts, farm and garden, livestock and horse exhibits, rides, games, live concerts, and entertainment, live Thoroughbred horseracing, fair treats and farm fresh foods, U-Learn Ag. Education Zone, a museum, and more. “No other event provides so much food, fun, and family entertainment for so little!” Gym Class Heroes will also be performing day the fair on Friday, September 8th.


Celebrate America’s independence with friends & family at SummerFest, Gaithersburg’s illuminating summer festival on the expansive grounds of Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm. The free event takes place on SATURDAY, JULY 1, 2023, from 6 to 11:30 p.m. The festival features live music, food trucks, local breweries, family-friendly activities, all leading up to a spectacular fireworks display & SummerGlo After Party.

SummerFest kicks off at 6 p.m. with Attraction, one of DC’s top dance bands. Enjoy delicious offerings from food and local craft beverage vendors, including Saints Row Brewing, Lone Oak, True Respite, and Waredaca. ATMs available onsite. The air-conditioned Activity Center will serve as a comfort station with indoor bathrooms and space to relax up until 9 p.m.
