Following the Montgomery Planning Board’s approval of The Great Seneca Plan: Connecting Life and Science last month, the plan has been transmitted to the Montgomery County Council, which will hold a public hearing on the Planning Board Draft of the plan on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 7 p.m.

Update by MCPD: Jalie Marah Moreno has been located safe and unharmed

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Jalie Marah Moreno, a missing 13-year-old from Gaithersburg.


Update: According to Maryland State Police, “At around 7:15pm last night in the area of NB 270, north of Watkins Mill Road, troopers responded to a crash that injured a Rockville Barrack trooper. Preliminary investigation indicates he was in his marked patrol vehicle with his emergency equipment activated, responding to assist another trooper who was investigating a suspected DUI crash. The trooper was struck by a Toyota Sequoia SUV while attempting to make a U-turn at the center median emergency crossover. The driver of the Sequoia was not injured. The trooper was transported to Suburban Hospital.” (more…)


The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair returns Friday, August 9th and will run through Saturday, August 17th at the fairgrounds in Gaithersburg. This will be the 75th annual fair and its fourth year back after having to cancel for the first time in its 70+ year history in 2020 due to Covid restrictions.
