For many soccer fans, the weekend is defined by early mornings, fresh pints, and the communal roar of a Premier League match. And according to a recent list from The Washington Post, two Maryland establishments (both in Montgomery County) are among the best spots in the DC area to get that authentic match-day experience.
Every few years, John Denver’s iconic “Take Me Home, Country Roads” sparks debate in our area when its origin reappears in viral social media posts. Recently, Barstool’s DMV affiliate shared a post claiming, “The Road in Take Me Home, Country Roads, is Not in West Virginia, It’s Actually Clopper Road in Gaithersburg.” This stirred up discussions regarding the song’s true origin, prompting us to revisit the real story.
Chipotle is set to open a new location in the Walnut Hill Shopping Center in Gaithersburg, behind the Bank of America. The addition comes as part of the center’s ongoing redevelopment, which has included the opening of ALDI last July and the completion of a large mural by Baltimore street artist Nether.
Update: In a press release, Sixty Vines incorrectly listed the upcoming location as 231 Rio Boulevard. The restaurant is scheduled to open at 212 Ellington Blvd in Downtown Crown.

This past March we let you know that DICK’S Sporting Goods at 2 Grand Corner in Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront is transforming into a DICK’S House of Sport– a concept designed to deliver a completely immersive experience for shoppers. The store is now aiming for a January 2026 completion date (progress photos available below).

Montgomery County’s first Buffalo Wild Wings Go (BWW Go) is set to open its doors in Gaithersburg, bringing a new and streamlined way to enjoy the popular brand’s wings.
