Neko Nook has officially opened in the space previously occupied by FD Book Cafe at 422 Main St in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood. Bangkok Garden has leased the space that was the longtime home of Good Fortune Cafe in Kentlands Square. Good Fortune Cafe, which has been serving the area since 1994 (according to its website), closed in August and is planning to return to a new location (news coming soon).
The 31st annual Oktoberfest returns to transform the Kentlands in Gaithersburg, with multiple stages of live entertainment featuring traditional Bavarian music & dancing, along with local, regional & national talent. The event will take place on Sunday, October 13th from 12pm-5pm.
The City of Gaithersburg’s Department of Public Works is replacing the playground at Lakelands Park. The playground equipment at Lakelands Park is 20 years old and has reached the end of its useful service life.
Last June we let you know that Quincy’s officially signed a lease to bring its new concept, Quincy’s Club House, to 245 Kentlands Blvd. The country club style restaurant, bar, and golf venue is taking over the location that was recently home to Not Your Average Joe’s. A $990,000 permit to begin alterations in the space was approved this past spring and now ownership tells us that they’re hoping for a September/October opening (Fall 2024).

The Kentlands Bar Crawl, an event that started over 20 years ago and has grown to include more than 150 people this year, has raised $1720 for Feed the Fridge.
