The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) has awarded $500,000 in the second round of Purple Line Small Business Grants, providing $5,000 to $40,000 to eligible businesses along the light rail corridor to help sustain operations during construction.

On August 11, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., deputies of the Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff, assigned to the 4H Fair in Centreville, MD, were alerted to an attempted kidnapping.
