MCDOT has announced the transportation schedule for Veterans Day on Tuesday, Nov. 11, noting that County government offices and MC311 will be closed and most Ride On services will operate on a holiday schedule, with Flash Orange running a modified schedule and Flash Blue not operating. Parking at County garages and meters in Bethesda, Silver Spring, and Wheaton will be free, Metrorail will run on a weekend schedule, and MARC trains will operate full service on all lines. (more…)

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is reminding residents that due to a Halloween Block Party on Dallas Avenue in Four Corners, Ride On Route 19 will not serve certain stops on Friday, Oct. 31, from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Passengers should instead use the nearby stops at Dallas Avenue and Lanark Way during the temporary service change. The bus loop at the Medical Center Metro Station will be closed on select Sundays through spring 2026 due to Metrorail construction, affecting Montgomery County Ride On Routes 34 and 46. During the closures, buses will be rerouted to stops along Rockville Pike, while other Ride On routes that do not operate on Sundays will not be impacted.

Bethesda’s biggest food festival is returning this fall, and with it come several road closures to accommodate the thousands of attendees expected in Woodmont Triangle. The 33rd annual Taste of Bethesda will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and drivers should plan ahead as key streets in downtown Bethesda will be blocked to traffic.
