Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) responded to the 12,200 blk of Village Square Ter, near Parklawn Dr, for the report of a fire at the Village Square Apartment complex in North Bethesda on Saturday, October 14. According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the was located on the first floor of the 4-story building and has been extinguished. EMS is evaluating two residents for smoke inhalation.

Montgomery County Police has issued the following traffic advisory on Saturday morning (6:53am): “Utility work has westbound Old Georgetown Road closed from Tuckerman Lane to I-495. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route. Expect significant delays.”


Montgomery County Police are investigating a serious collision that occurred last night on Randolph Rd. According to police, “On Thursday, October 12, 2023, at approximately 7:25 p.m., 4th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the area of Randolph Road and Glenmont Circle for the report of a single motorcycle collision. 

The investigation has revealed that the operator of the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Randolph Rd. prior to Glenmont Circle when the motorcycle collided with the curb for reasons that are still under investigation. As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist was ejected.  The adult male motorcyclist, of Silver Spring, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.  More information will be released as it becomes available.”


Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) and Montgomery County Police responded to a collision involving a motorcyclist on Thursday, October 12 around 7:25pm. According to police, “At approximately 7:25 p.m., MCP officers responded to the area of Randolph Rd. and Glenallan Ave. for the report of a single vehicle collision. The preliminary investigation has revealed that the operator of a motorcycle lost control for reasons unknown at this time and sustained serious injuries. The adult male motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Montgomery County Police tweeted the following at 8:12pm: ‘TRAFFIC ADVISORY – Westbound Randolph Rd. is closed at Glenallan Ave. due to a traffic collision. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route. Expect significant delays.” We will provide an update if additional information becomes available.


Montgomery County Police is conducting a death investigation after an incident that occurred Wednesday morning in Gaithersburg. According to police, “On Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at approximately 9:36 a.m., MCPD and Fire Rescue personnel responded to the 17100 block of Downing Street for a vehicle on fire. The initial investigation has determined that an adult male was located deceased inside the vehicle.

The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be conducted to officially determine the cause and manner of death.  Preliminarily, no foul play is suspected, and there is no known threat to the public.   This is an active and ongoing investigation.   More information will be released as it becomes available.” We will provide an update if additional information becomes available. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) responded to a collision on Wednesday, October 11 in Potomac. According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the collision occurred on Seven Locks Rd and Greentree Rd, in the Deerfield neighborhood. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a collision in Germantown around 3:30pm on Tuesday, October 10. According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the collision occurred on northbound I-270, near Middlebrook Rd. One patient was evaluated for injuries. Some lanes were blocked following the incident. We will provide an update if additional information becomes available.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a fire in the 12700 block of Holdridge Rd, between Weller Rd and Denley Rd in Glenmont on Tuesday, October 10, around 7:15pm. According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, two large sheds were fully engulfed when firefighters arrived and there was no extension to nearby houses. One adult was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a call for a fire at a two-story single family home on the 12000 block of Coldstream Drive, near Victory Lane, in Potomac late Saturday evening.  According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, the fire was out by approximately 8pm and one patient was evaluated for minor injuries. That person refused transport and all three occupants of the home were able to get out safely. The fire originated in the basement of the home, but a cause has not been made available. Three adults and two pets have been displaced.

On Monday, Piringer tweeted it was likely that Lithium battery cells were involved to some degree, however other electrical equipment was located in immediate basement area. Damage is estimated to $125K.


Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a “well-involved” vehicle fire on Monday, October 9,  in the 800blk of Crown Park Ave, near near Decloverly Drive and close to the Crown Farm Community Center. .  According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, “the car had recently been towed to this location, fire involved engine compartment, and interior dash, no injuries, cause under investigation & likely mechanical in nature.” We will provide an update if addition information becomes available.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision on New Hampshire Ave and Elton Rd, near I-495 in White Oak around 5:15am on Monday, October 9. According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the collision with entrapment involved two vehicles and two patients were transported to the hospital for injuries.
