Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision involving a pedestrian on Southbound MD-650 New Hampshire Ave, just South of Bonifant/Good Hope Roads in Colesville on Tuesday, September 5 around 9:20pm. According to public safety reporter Cordell Pugh, the patient was was transported to an area trauma center with critical injuries.

Rockville City Police responded to the 400 block of Blandford Street for an 18-month old child who had fallen out of an open window on Monday, September 4. According to police, “the child is conscious and breathing and was transported to a local hospital. Our Investigators are en route as this remains an active investigation.” WUSA reports that the child was found on the sidewalk by a neighbor who then called 911. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a townhouse fire in the 23300 blk of Brewers Tavern Way in Clarksburg on Sunday afternoon. According to MCFRS Assistant Chief David Pazos, “units reported heavy fire to the rear with extension to both exposures. Fire is reported out, and there are no injuries at this time.”

Two adults and one child have been displaced. Reports of an explosion were from a grill that was located near the fire. Approximately 68 MCFRS personnel responded to the scene. A 2nd alarm was declared due to the heat. We will post an update if additional information becomes available.


Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a fire on the 23900 block of Trading Post Drive in Clarksburg around 3:30pm on Friday, September 1. Lucien Lee, a recent graduate of Seneca Valley High School, reached out to let us know he and his family lived in the home that was destroyed by the fire. The young man started a GoFundMe fundraiser to help the family as everything gets sorted out and they recover from their loss.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a townhouse fire in the 8800 block of Thomas Lea Ter in Montgomery Village early Saturday morning. According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the exterior fire was located around the chimney, with minimal interior extension.

There were no injuries reported and all occupants have been accounted for. Two adults, one dog, and two cats have been displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation. We will post an update if additional information becomes available.


Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a fire on the 23900 block of Trading Post Drive in Clarksburg around 3:30pm on Friday, September 1.

According to Assistant Chief David Pazos, “Units encountered fire through the roof with exposures on the left and right of the townhouse. One civilian is being evaluated on the scene,” and “Units will remain on the scene for an extended time while various hot spots are extinguished, and fire investigators have completed their work.”

Montgomery County Police are investigating a collision that occurred on Wednesday, August 30, in the area of Frederick Road and Gunners Branch Road in Germantown.  According to MCPD: “At approximately 9:49 p.m., 5th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a collision involving a bicyclist.  The preliminary investigation revealed that the bicyclist was struck by a silver Acura traveling northbound on Frederick Road. 

Detectives are investigating the involvement of additional vehicles in the collision. The driver of the Acura remained at the scene. The bicyclist, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the collision. A news release will be distributed later today, once more information becomes available. The name of the deceased will be released following proper notification of next of kin.”


According to public safety reporter Cordell Pugh, a bicyclist was struck and critically injured on Southbound Frederick Rd (MD-355) near Gunners Branch Rd/Scenery Dr around 9:35pm on Wednesday, August 30th.  Montgomery County Police tweeted the following at 10:22pm: “TRAFFIC ADVISORY – N. Frederick Avenue is closed at Plummer Drive due to a traffic collision. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route. Expect significant delays.”

Approximately 65 firefighters responded to an attic fire in the 7400 Blk of Rosewood Manor Lane in Gaithersburg on Thursday, August 24. According to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) Pete Piringer, two adults and two children have been displaced.  No civilians were injured and one firefighter was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. We will post an update if additional information becomes available.
