According to District 3 Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Commander Jason Cokinos, a community member in downtown Silver Spring spotted a suspect breaking into cars around 3 AM and called 911, enabling MCPD 3rd District officers to swiftly apprehend the individual. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision involving a pedestrian pinned under a vehicle in the Giant Food parking lot on Old Columbia Pike in Burtonsville on Thursday, December 26.
