The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) are investigating a fatal hit-and-run involving a pedestrian that occurred at the intersection of Columbia Pike (Route 29) and Fairland Road on Monday evening, where a 73-year-old woman was struck multiple times by at least two vehicles and pronounced dead at the scene.

A 23-year-old Silver Spring woman has been charged with manslaughter by vehicle due to gross negligence and related traffic offenses following an August 2025 crash that led to the death of an 85-year-old passenger.

The Montgomery County community is rallying to support the family of Taeyon Malachi Prather, an 18-year-old Gaithersburg resident whose death is being investigated as a homicide.
