Teens Threaten to Throw “Acid” on Victim During Tysons Corner Carjacking, Liquid Revealed to Be Candy; Arrest Made in Montgomery County

Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Major Crimes Bureau charged a 14-year-old juvenile from Maryland in connection with a carjacking in Tysons Corner Center yesterday evening.

Per Fairfax County Police: “At 6:23 p.m., detectives from our Tysons Urban Team responded to a parking garage in the 7900 block of Tysons Corner Center in McLean for a carjacking. Two juvenile suspects approached the victim, an adult man, who was sitting in his car, and knocked on his window. When the victim exited his car, the juveniles threatened to throw “acid” on the victim. One of the juvenile suspects entered the victim’s car while the other suspect threw green liquid, which was later determined to be liquid sour candy, on the victim. The suspects fled the area in the victim’s BMW X5.

MCPD Announces It Has Taken Steps to Enhance Safety of Jewish Community

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has announced via social media that it has taken steps to enhance the safety of the local Jewish community. The full statement can be seen below:

“In response to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Montgomery County Department of Police has taken steps to enhance the safety of our Jewish community. We have increased police presence around religious institutions located within the county.

(Located) Missing 12-Year-Old Last Seen Driving a Blue Hyundai Tucson on Wednesday Night

Kimora Neal was last seen on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at approximately 8 p.m., driving a blue Hyundai Tucson, bearing Maryland license plate 1FA6234, northbound on New Hampshire Ave. at Heartsfields Dr. in Silver Spring. She is 5’6″, 130 Ibs., with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black crop top and grey leggings.

Developing: Suspect in Custody Following Shooting in Olney

Update: This incident is now being investigated as a domestic related homicide.

4^th District Montgomery County Police officers responded to the 4500 block of Mt. Olney Lane shortly before 8:30 for a shooting. The suspect is in custody and officers are still on scene. This story is developing and we will update with additional information as soon as it’s available.

Gaithersburg Police Investigating Monday Afternoon Stabbing

The Gaithersburg Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred on Monday, October 2. According to police, “Detectives are investigating a stabbing that occurred in the area N. Summit Ave & Park Ave. Today at approx 3:16 p.m., ofcs located a 27-years-old male victim suffering from lacerations. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Warns Public of Scam

Per the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office: “The Sheriff’s Office has been noticing an uptick in scam calls reported by residents of the County. Sheriff Uy would like to remind everyone that the Sheriff’s Office will NEVER ask for money or financial information over the phone. Also, it is important to remember that paying a “fine” will not clear up a warrant.

These scammers are giving the following fictitious story when they get an intended victim on the phone: “My name is (insert fake name) from the Sheriff’s Office (insert fake Section). You missed a court date/jury duty/failed to answer a summons, and the Judge has issued a warrant for your arrest. If you don’t pay a fine, my deputies will be coming to arrest you immediately.”
