U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Brayan Eleazar Angulo-Barrios, a 26-year-old Salvadoran national and alleged 18th Street gang member, in Hyattsville, Maryland, on April 22, 2024, after previous arrests and convictions in Prince George’s County and Montgomery County for gun and drug offenses.
A traffic advisory was issued on Saturday afternoon after a driver crashed into an electrical pole near the intersection of Travilah Rd and Split Creek Circle.
Montgomery County residents can suggest locations for speed cameras by contacting the Montgomery County Police Automated Traffic Enforcement Program Manager. Cameras may only be placed on residential roads with speed limits of 35 mph or less or in school zones, as defined by Maryland law.
Montgomery County will host the 10th annual GreenFest on Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Marian Fryer Plaza in Wheaton. On Wednesday at Seneca Valley High School, a reported sighting of what appeared to be a gun triggered an immediate response, according to a letter sent out to the school community. The incident began when a student observed another student with what was initially believed to be a firearm. In response, a Shelter-in-Place was initiated at 12:42 pm on Wednesday.
