Montgomery County has announced that it was recently listed as one of healthiest counties in Maryland and in the United States, according to the annual County Health Rankings (CHR). Factors include low rates of premature death, higher life expectancy than average in Maryland, and higher vaccination rates.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Sainabou Thompson, a missing 16-year-old.

The Maryland Commission for Women (MCW) announced that Ariana Kelly will be its new Executive Director. Senator Ariana B. Kelly (D-Montgomery) stated on Wednesday that she will leave the Senate for the position. The Montgomery County Police Department is investigating a shooting in the 2200 block of Glenallan Avenue in the Glenmont area. The call was received at 9:23 p.m.
The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair returns this Friday, August 9th and will run through Saturday, August 17th. This will be the 75th annual fair and its fourth year back after having to cancel for the first time in its 70+ year history in 2020 due to Covid restrictions. Additional information about specific vendors/concessions and activities at this year’s fair will be made available later this spring.
