Montgomery County has announced a new $1.5 million grant opportunity to help low and moderate-income residents prepare their homes for the effects of climate change.
Mary Trammell has been the longtime owner of the 7-Eleven convenience store at 2 University Blvd W in Four Corners (Silver Spring). She is retiring and preparing to move out of state, but Montgomery County Police officers wanted to honor her before she left.

This past Saturday, the Richard Montgomery High School Girls’ Swim & Dive team followed up their first ever Metros win with their first ever State Championship.
Kayla DiCello, a 2022 graduate of Northwest High School in Germantown and Boyds resident, took the Winter Cup women’s all-around title on Saturday, posting a 56.850, ahead of Skye Blakely (54.650) and Hezly Rivera (54.000).
The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) responded to the 4100 block of Garrett Park Rd. in Silver Spring for the sound of shots at approximately 5:30pm on Saturday evening. Police tell us that upon arrival officers observed a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed and spoke to multiple witnesses who observed a male shooting a firearm into the woods.

Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Department – Investigative Section have confirmed that the pedestrian struck by a train last night was the suspect involved in the domestic-related stabbing that occurred in the 500 block of Girard Street in Gaithersburg. The female victim in the stabbing incident is currently in stable condition.
