Following the recent fatal shooting of two Israeli Embassy staff members outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., the Rockville City Police Department (RCPD) announced it has increased patrols near synagogues, places of worship, and community centers, and is working with local leaders to support community safety. Similarly, MCPD issued a statement on Thursday, May 22, noting that while there is no known threat, patrols around Jewish institutions have been increased out of an abundance of caution.
Maryland State Police, including the Rockville barrack, will conduct statewide high-visibility DUI and traffic enforcement over Memorial Day weekend to address impaired, distracted, and aggressive driving, with support from the Maryland Highway Safety Office. (more…)
