On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, shortly after 7:00 p.m., Rockville City Police officers responded to Maryvale Park, located in the 800 block of First Street, for a report of an altercation involving a group of juvenile males. The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) referred to the incident as a stabbing.

On June 11, 2025, at 11:15 p.m. the Rockville City Police Department, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Montgomery County Police Department and the Montgomery County Division of Fire Rescue Services responded to the 600 block of Blandford St. for a shooting.
The Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force participated in a national initiative, “Operation Safe Online Summer,” resulting in 595 investigations, 41 arrests, and the rescue of 17 child victims. The task force urges the public, especially parents and seniors, to remain vigilant about online safety and continues to provide education, outreach, and investigative support to combat internet-based crimes and child exploitation.
