Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Department – Investigative Section have arrested 26-year-old Mone Herndon of Washington D.C., 26-year-old Shawn Stewart of Washington D.C., 18-year-old Precious Spivey of Washington D.C., and a 17-year-old of Washington D.C. for felony theft related charges.

The Gaithersburg Police Department (GBPD) have arrested 31-year-old Jovani Ramos in connection with a stabbing at Cancun Mexican Restaurant on December 26, 2024, charging him with attempted second-degree murder and multiple assault offenses, and he is currently being held without bond.
A hit-and-run in Gaithersburg on January 27, 2025, led to a stolen vehicle, a home invasion in Germantown, and an armed police pursuit across state lines, ending in Virginia with the arrest of 32-year-old Esmeraldo Martinez De La Cruz, who was reported missing from New York along with his 4-year-old daughter. On January 27, at approximately 9:17 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the area of Maple Avenue and Grant Avenue for a report of a collision involving a 9-year-old juvenile bicyclist.
