Last week, we reported that Montgomery County Police, in partnership with Homeland Security and IRS-CI, announced it has led a successful investigation dismantling a Prince George’s County theft and fencing ring trafficking stolen goods worth $270,000 from major retailers and generating over $1 million in untaxed revenue with merchandise shipped to South America. On Monday, Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced the indictment of four individuals involved.

On November 5, at approximately 4:06 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the 700 block of Ethan Allen Avenue for the report of a strong-arm robbery that had just occurred involving five juvenile suspects assaulting the victim and taking his car keys before stealing his vehicle.

In October, The Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD) welcomed the inaugural class of the new Metro Transit Police Department Criminal Justice Academy. “Previously MTPD outsourced a criminal justice academy to train recruits, but creating our own training academy will save Metro nearly $1 million a year, which includes fees that were paid to other training facilities and personnel costs.” Metro writes.

According to the Maryland Police, the Maryland Car Rally Task Force, in collaboration with local police, disrupted six unlawful exhibition driving events across Prince George’s and Anne Arundel counties on Saturday night, resulting in multiple arrests and the recovery of a stolen Chevrolet Corvette.
