Dirty Dough is coming to 36B Maryland Ave in Rockville Town Square. The cookie shop will be taking over the location that was the longtime home of Berry Cup, next to the vacant space that’s wrapped in HalfSmoke signage (presumably no longer coming to Rockville Town Square). Berry Cup Closed in the summer of 2022.

In the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, before judge Marielsa Bernard, a jury has found defendants, Callen Baker, 20, of Jefferson, MD, and Zachary Ciccantelli, 24, of Rockville, MD, guilty on charges related to a shootout on Monroe Street in Rockville on March 1, 2023. The jury returned a guilty verdict on 18 counts of first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, use of a firearm in commission of a crime of violence and reckless endangerment.

Following the Montgomery Planning Board’s approval of The Great Seneca Plan: Connecting Life and Science last month, the plan has been transmitted to the Montgomery County Council, which will hold a public hearing on the Planning Board Draft of the plan on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 7 p.m.

Back in March 2023, we reported that Umi Sushi & Seafood Buffet would be taking over the space that was recently home to Miller’s Ale House and previously home to Hooters and Shakey’s at 1471 Rockville Pike in Rockville. Then, in December 2023, signage for Umi Sushi was replaced by signage for Raku AYCE Sushi & Seafood Buffet, before eventually changing back to Umi Sushi & Seafood Buffet earlier this year.

Coming soon signage is up for AutoZone at 12209 Veirs Mill Rd, at the former site of CVS in the Stoneymill Square shopping center. CVS closed in November 2021 when the company began shutting down many of its locations that did not feature a drive-thru window for prescription pick up. (more…)


Has Rockville/MoCo found a new venue for outdoor concerts? The City of Rockville’s Hometown Holidays Music Fest is in its second day today at RedGate Park (14500 Avery Road) in Rockville and fans are pouring in to catch a performance by alternative rock band Everclear, whose career spans four decades and many memorable hits.
