Robert E. Peary High School alumni will gather on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the Lathrop E. Smith Environmental Education Center in Rockville to dedicate a rediscovered plaque honoring the USS Peary mast, which now stands at the center. The event celebrates a renewed connection between the former high school, the U.S. Navy vessel, and the educational center where the mast has quietly resided for years.

The City of Rockville Recreation and Sports department has announced that the outdoor recreation pool construction has been completed and the newly renovated outdoor recreation pools open on Monday, June 30th.

The City of Rockville is poised for a significant enhancement to one of its recreational spaces, thanks to Maryland’s Community Parks and Playgrounds program. As part of Governor Wes Moore’s FY 2026 budget, Rockville has been allocated $225,000 for the replacement of the playground at Fallsgrove Park.

On Saturday, we let you know that Harris Teeter, located at 11845 Old Georgetown Rd. in North Bethesda, is set to close permanently. At the time we were informed that July 20th was the likely closing date and that was confirmed by an email sent out by Harris Teeter to its customers on Monday afternoon.
