At approximately 6:07 pm on Saturday, an off-duty Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) officer was involved in a collision with another vehicle near the intersection of Fredrick Road and Indianola Drive in Rockville.
A federal jury convicted a Virginia man and Montgomery County woman on charges of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering for their parts in defrauding a non-profit corporation dedicated to global public health.
Following the recent fatal shooting of two Israeli Embassy staff members outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., the Rockville City Police Department (RCPD) announced it has increased patrols near synagogues, places of worship, and community centers, and is working with local leaders to support community safety. Similarly, MCPD issued a statement on Thursday, May 22, noting that while there is no known threat, patrols around Jewish institutions have been increased out of an abundance of caution.
The Montgomery College class of 2025 will be recognized at the 78th Annual Commencement on Friday, May 23, with more than 1,320 graduates participating and over 3,100 total awardees representing 116 countries. The College will honor students from all campuses and programs, including four Board of Trustees Academic Excellence Award recipients, with the ceremony held at the Rockville Campus Athletic Field.
