This year we commemorate the 50th anniversary of Armand’s, the local chain that captured the hearts– and appetites– of pizza lovers across the DC Metro area. Founded in 1975, Armand’s began as a humble pizzeria on Veazey Street and Wisconsin Avenue NW near Tenley Circle in Washington, D.C., and quickly blossomed into a beloved institution. At its peak, the chain boasted over 25 locations, including multiple restaurants right here in Montgomery County. Today, however, only two family-owned locations remain: the Rockville restaurant (190 Halpine Rd.) and “Armand’s By the Sea” in Bethany Beach, DE.

Buffalo Wild Wings introduced its first ‘Buffalo Wild Wings GO’ (BWWGO) location, a scaled-down version of the restaurant that focuses on the to-go and delivery format, in Georgia back in 2020. Now, the company has signed on for its third location in the county– in Burtonsville.

ISAAC’S Poultry Market has announced that its second location at 15785 Old Columbia Pike in Burtonsville will open today, Thursday, February 20, at 10:45 a.m. The opening was initially delayed due to a partial power outage, but the issue has been resolved.

Duke’s Grocery, a DC-based, East London-inspired gastropub, has provided an update via Instagram showing plenty of progress as the restaurant prepares to open this spring. The Instagram post, which can be viewed below, shows a preview of the restaurant’s interior.
