Chef Ngee Kitchen Jollof Rice Drive Thru at 18523 N. Frederick Ave. in the Gaithersburg S.C. shopping center will hold its grand opening on Saturday, January 25. The restaurant will be offering customers 10% of their checks and free mocktails.

bartaco has signed on to open its first Maryland location at 11886 Grand Park Ave. in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose. It will be taking over the space that was previously home to Nada, which had a nearly eight year run that came to an end last September.
Sentinel Real Estate Corp. has made a significant investment in the DC Metro Area– acquiring two recently constructed multifamily buildings for over $317 million. Among these properties is Rockwell at Crown, formerly known as Aventon Crown, in Gaithersburg’s Downtown Crown neighborhood.
Last April we let you know that local restaurant group Moby Dick House of Kabob signed on to open a new restaurant in Potomac’s Cabin John Village. The new location will be adjacent to Colony Grill on the back side of the shopping center and an opening timeframe has been set, according to a report.
Chopt has announced that it will be giving customers an exclusive preview before the store officially opens at 18123 Town Center Dr. in Olney.
Pelicana Chicken is currently holding its soft opening at 4 N Washington Street in Rockville. The restaurant is located in the space previously occupied by Woodside Deli, which closed in the summer of 2022 after 12 years at Rockville’s Courthouse Center. (more…)

Westfield Montgomery Mall at 7101 Democracy Blvd in Bethesda will host Lunar New Year Celebrations in partnership with the Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC) on January 25th and February 8th from 11 AM to 3 PM, featuring cultural performances, arts and crafts, a dragon parade, and guest appearances by Netflix’s Love is Blind DC stars Taylor Krause and Garrett Josemans (January 25 only).
