MoCo’s newest “speakeasy”, the Whispering Spirit, is now open at Fallen Oak Distilling– located at Lone Oak in Olney. A video of the experience can be seen below.
Last week, we reported that ongoing plumbing issues have forced all restaurants in the Woodley Gardens shopping center in Rockville, including Carmen’s Italian Ice, Shanghai Taste, and Z&Z, to temporarily close for repairs. Initially hoping to reopen by Halloween, it now appears the closures will likely extend through the first week of November. (more…)

The development of Rockville Town Square came following the demolition of the Rockville Mall in 1995, when local residents initiated discussions that laid the groundwork for revitalizing the downtown area. The owners of Lone Oak Farm Brewing Company are thrilled have announced the expansion of Lone Oak’s legacy with the opening of Fallen Oak Distilling on the existing brewery property (5000 Olney Laytonsville Road). This will include a speakeasy that will “transport you to the 1920s.” Photos below.
