Raising Cane’s started its expansion into the D.C. metropolitan region when its first area restaurant in December 2022 in Sterling, VA (45545 Dulles Eastern Plaza). The first Maryland location opened in Towson in January 2023 and both stores featured lines out the door for months on several days of the week. Additional locations have opened across the state and now a College Park, MD location has been announced the corner of Route 1 and Knox Road.

Business Insider recently published a list of the best sandwich shops in every state according to Yelp, and Full On Craft Eats & Drinks was named the best in Maryland. Michelle Houser Harris, co-owner, chef, and manager at Full On Craft was a contestant on season 14 of the Fox reality show Hell’s Kitchen back in 2015. (more…)


Umi Hot Pot, Sushi & Seafood Buffet opened last Friday in Rockville and has been drawing huge crowds with waits often exceeding an hour for dinner service. The highly anticipated restaurant has taken the space that was recently home to Miller’s Ale House and previously home to Hooters and Shakey’s at 1471 Rockville Pike in Rockville. Yelp, a popular crowd-sourced review website, has put together its “Top 100 Sushi Spots 2024” list. Included at #73 was Ocean City’s Sushi Cafe, which can be found at 13711 Coastal Highway between 137th and 138th street at the popular Maryland vacation destination. Olney’s 168 Asian Burrito was the only other Maryland restaurant to make the list at #57 in the country.
