Ensemble at 4856 Cordell Ave in Bethesda has closed. Ensemble was a “digital food hall” from Catalogue Brands, the restaurant group behind Ted’s Bulletin, Federalist Pig, Honeymoon Chicken, Sidekick Bakery, and Kramers. Food from Ensemble was available for pickup or delivery and its menu featured the most popular items from several Catalogue restaurants that could be mixed and matched, all coming from one kitchen.

District Bistro & Frank’s Burgers are coming to 11230 Grandview Ave in Wheaton-Glenmont, the former site of Umberto’s. The space will be split into two concepts with Franks on one side and District Bistro on the other, united by a kitchen in the back. Frank’s Burger Place is currently located at 11265 Triangle Ln. The new combination restaurant is hoping to open by the end of August.

According to owner Pedro Matamoros, District Bistro will be an American concept that is focused on “seasonality and use of local ingredients when permitted.” Menu items will include beef tartare, steak frites, roasted duck and lamb bolognaise, and its bar will focus on classic cocktails like Martinis and Manhattans. The restaurant also plans to eventually launch a brunch menu.

Like all Reformation stores, the Bethesda Row location incorporates natural and recyclable materials, including sustainable dressing room carpets, vintage furniture, eco-friendly fabrics, hangers made with FSC-certified wood, and reusable deadstock totes. The store will also offset 100% of its electricity usage with renewable energy.

Additionally, the store features six dressing rooms and showcases Reformation’s one-of-a-kind, tech-driven retail concept, which brings the best of its online experience to its physical doors. The result is a more customer-centric shopping experience while remaining, as always, environmentally conscious. Features include:

Per Franchising.com, “the iconic neighborhood sandwich shop, today announced that it has finalized a 27-shop agreement in Maryland with the company’s founder Bryant Keil and his son Hampden.” The agreement grants Mr. Keil exclusive territory rights in seven Maryland counties – Washington, Frederick, Montgomery, Prince George, Charles, Calvert, and St. Mary’s – to develop 15 new Potbelly shops in the next eight years. “The Potbelly brand we know and love was shaped by Bryant’s leadership. He has a keen understanding of the Potbelly vision and deep appreciation for the brand and what sets us apart,” said Bob Wright, President and CEO of Potbelly. “He oversaw years of incredible expansion for our brand, and we look forward to him accelerating our growth momentum in Maryland as we continue to execute our strategic franchise and growth strategy across the U.S. Along with refranchising several of our existing shops, this agreement will extend Potbelly’s presence in central and southern regions of the state over the next decade, giving residents and visitors more access to our delicious food.”

Auntie Anne’s/Cinnabon combination restaurant opened last week at 220 Boardwalk Place in Rio, taking over the location that was recently home to Lilly Magilly’s– as the cupcakery is still preparing for a move to a new location. Until today, the restaurant had only Cinnabon products available. Auntie Anne’s pretzels have made their debut today as the new oven has arrived and employees are working towards stocking the display counter.

The two brands, popular for their presence in malls, are co-branding to open locations across the country. In recent years, Cinnabon left then returned to Montgomery Mall. There’s also an existing Cinnabon location in Wheaton Mall. Auntie Anne’s has locations at the outlets in Clarksburg, Ellsworth Place Mall, Montgomery Mall, and Wheaton Mall in MoCo.
