Burtonsville bid farewell to its 7-Eleven, located at 15585 Old Columbia Pike, this past spring. The building is set to be demolished as part of the plans for Wawa to open its second Montgomery County location on the current site of 7-Eleven and the adjacent Mattress and More Liquidators (15595 Old Columbia Pike). A representative from Mattress and More Liquidators shared with us that the store is expected to close in October.
Frederick has a new destination for all things sushi and hibachi! Panda Sushi has officially opened its doors at 1220 W Patrick St, Frederick, MD 21703, taking over the space that was formerly a Pizza Hut. The opening was reported by Frederick City Media.
Back in April, we let you know that Advance Auto Parts would be be taking over the space that was recently home to Walgreens at 12222 Veirs Mill Rd. in the Randolph Crossing shopping center that’s also home to Rodman’s Discount Store, Megenagna Ethiopian Market, and more. The store is now open, according to Google.

Il Pizzico, a long-standing Italian eatery at 15209 Frederick Rd. in Rockville, Maryland, previously earned a “forchetta” (or fork) from Gambero Rosso, a renowned Italian food and wine magazine. The Planet Aid thrift store and donation center at 5520 Randolph Rd in Rockville is preparing to close its doors, with plans to relocate to a new, nearby space. While the exact closing date is not yet confirmed, the organization expects to cease operations at its current location sometime in September.
The Heights Food Hall at Wisconsin Place in Chevy Chase has announced that it will be closing permanently on Sunday, August 24th after less than two years in business.
