Dacha Beer Garden is coming to 1115 East-West Highway in Silver Spring, taking over the former site of Denizens Brewery. Denizens, which opened in the space in June 2014, closed its Silver Spring location in October 2023, with owner Julie Verrati stating, “Our ten-year lease has come to an end, and that’s the end of an era for us. It’s been an incredible ten years in Silver Spring, and we’re so grateful for the community here…” Denizens can still be found at 4550 Van Buren St in Riverdale Park, MD.
Last August, Kensington’s BabyCat Brewery announced plans to open a second location at 4800 Rugby Ave in Bethesda. (more…)
On Wednesday, March 26, Jersey Mike’s Subs will donate 100% of its sales—expected to exceed $25 million—to over 200 local charities as part of its 15th Annual Day of Giving. This event, the culmination of the Month of Giving campaign, has helped Jersey Mike’s raise more than $113 million for charities since 2011. Jersey Mike’s has nine locations in Montgomery County. Earlier this month, we reported that celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay was filming a television series, possibly Kitchen Nightmares or a similar show, at Callahan’s Seafood Bar & Grill (1808 Rosemont Ave.) in Frederick. It has now been confirmed that Ramsay also recently filmed an episode at MacGregor’s Restaurant and Tavern in Havre de Grace, Maryland. (more…)
