El Sapo Cuban Social Club at 8455 Fenton St. in Silver Spring has announced it will permanently close. The restaurant was opened in 2018 by Chef Raynold Mendizabal, who also owned Urban Butcher, which closed in 2020.

L&L Hawaiian Barbecue, located at 785 Rockville Pike, Suite G, in the Ritchie Center in Rockville, has announced its grand opening weekend will take place January 3 to January 6. The restaurant will occupy the space previously home to Superbowl Noodle House, which closed permanently in March. As part of the celebration, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue will raffle off a free iPhone 16.

Crisfield Seafood at 8012 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring has announced it will permanently close on December 22. The restaurant has been a Montgomery County staple for nearly 80 years, operating in Silver Spring since 1945.
BT’s Bethesda, a new restaurant and bar owned by Brian “BT” Lacey, will open on Friday, December 13, at 4866 Cordell Ave., in the space formerly occupied by Zuma by Chef Ninja. Initially, the restaurant will be open for dinner only during its first week, with plans to introduce brunch and lunch service in the coming week. (more…)
A 30-year-old Rockville woman, a manager at Silo Falls Restaurant in Brookeville, has been charged with theft and credit card fraud after using a customer’s forgotten credit card, with detectives seeking additional potential victims.
