Tea-Do X Mochinut at 838 Rockville Pike in Rockville has closed. The duel concept restaurant featured menus from chains Mochinut and Tea-Do Cafe.
Last week, we reported that ongoing plumbing issues have forced all restaurants in the Woodley Gardens shopping center in Rockville, including Carmen’s Italian Ice, Shanghai Taste, and Z&Z, to temporarily close for repairs. Initially hoping to reopen by Halloween, it now appears the closures will likely extend through the first week of November. (more…)

First Watch is now open at 12255 Prosperity Dr. in the new White Oak Town Center development. The restaurant is located in a corner space with a large outdoor patio, across from the future grocery store anchor that remains to be determined (but appears to be Amazon Fresh again). For the grand opening, First Watch is offering customers who dine Monday, October 28 through Friday, November 1 a free cup of coffee with their meal.

On Thursday, we reported that Hard Times Cafe at 1117 Nelson St in Rockville temporarily closed again due to ongoing plumbing issues in the Woodley Gardens shopping center. The restaurant had previously shut down during the week of October 14 for similar problems and originally reopened in July after a closure that started in September 2023 due to plumbing issues. Mayan Monkey Brewing Co. has opened at 227 E. Diamond Ave, in the former location of Growlers and Summit Station Brewery. While the brewery awaits its state license to brew on-site, it is offering a selection of beers from Flying Dog, Modelo, and Pacifico.
Signage is up for Uncle Marcos’ Express at 239 Muddy Branch Rd in the Festival at Muddy Branch shopping center in Gaithersburg. The restaurant will be located in the space previously occupied by Boca Botanas, which closed on February 3. (more…)
